Heroes Fell.
Heroines Rise.

KUMA supports the widows of fallen IDF heroes of the Iron Swords War

With compassionate guidance and financial support, Sulamot’s KUMA Project helps these widows rise again — braver, supported, and empowered to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

About Sulamot

Founded by Rabbi Yosef Zvi Rimon, Sulamot is an award-winning Israeli nonprofit with a proven track record in large-scale Jewish education programs and crisis-response social welfare.

Alongside its global educational and Jewish community initiatives, Sulamot has—since October 7, 2023—rapidly mobilized to support IDF soldiers, displaced southern communities, and, most urgently, the widows and orphans of Israel’s fallen heroes through its KUMA program

Since October 7th, 2023, the Iron Swords War has created an unprecedented crisis — leaving over 320 widows of IDF soldiers and security personnel in a single war, the largest such loss in Israel’s history.

These women sent their husbands to defend the Jewish People and the State of Israel in one of its darkest hour.
Their families have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Now, many of these widows are raising young children alone, while facing profound grief, sudden financial strain, and endless bureaucratic hurdles. Beyond the numbers, they carry the daily struggle of rebuilding life — with the constant worry of how to make it through tomorrow, let alone the years ahead.
